Ekaṃ samayaṃ Bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:|| ||

"Bhikkhavo" ti.|| ||

"Bhadante" ti te bhikkhū Bhagavato paccassosuṃ.|| ||

Bhagavā etad avoca:|| ||

Cattāro'me bhikkhave thūpa-rahā.|| ||

Katame cattāro?|| ||

Tathāgato arahaṃ Sammā Sambuddho thūpa-raho,||
Pacceka-Buddho thūpa-raho,||
Tathāgata-sāvako thūpa-raho,||
rājā cakka-vattī thūpa-raho.|| ||

Ime kho bhikkhave cattāro thūpa-rahāti.|| ||
