Sutta 123:

Impermanance in Respect of the the Touch

[123.1] 'Monks, there are these seven persons,
worthy of offerings,
worthy of gifts,
worthy of oblations,
the world's peerless field for merit.

What seven?

Monks, herein a monk abides seeing the impermanence of the touch
conscious of it,
aware of it,
at all times,
continually,
without a break,
marking it mentally,
fathoming it by wisdom.

He by destroying the cankers,
he enters and abides in the cankerless mind-emancipation,
wisdom-emancipation,
here and now,
realizing it himself by knowledge;
attains emancipation eve in this life.

This then monks, is the first person
worthy of offerings,
worthy of gifts,
worthy of oblations,
the world's peerless field for merit.

 


 

Again, monks, a monk abides seeing the impermanence of the touch
conscious of it,
aware of it,
at all times,
continually,
without a break,
marking it mentally,
fathoming it by wisdom.

This one attains emancipation and death at the same time.

This then monks, is the second person
worthy of offerings,
worthy of gifts,
worthy of oblations,

What seven?

Monks, herein a monk abides seeing the ill of the touch
conscious of it,
aware of it,
at all times,
continually,
without a break,
marking it mentally,
fathoming it by wisdom.

He by destroying the cankers,
he enters and abides in the cankerless mind-emancipation,
wisdom-emancipation,
here and now,
realizing it himself by knowledge;
attains emancipation eve in this life.

This then monks, is the first person
worthy of offerings,
worthy of gifts,

aware of it,
at all times,
continually,

marking it mentally,
fathoming it by wisdom.

conscious of it,
aware of it,
at all times,
continually,
without a break,
marking it mentally,
fathoming it by wisdom.

He by destroying the cankers,
he enters and abides in the cankerless mind-emancipation,
wisdom-emancipation,

realizing it himself by knowledge;
attains emancipation eve in this life.

This then monks, is the first person
