"What is impermanent, brethren, -
desire for that must be abandoned.
And what is impermanent?
The eye, brethren, is impermanent.
Desire for that must be abandoned.
The ear, brethren, is impermanent.

Being repelled by these,
he lusts not for them.

For life in these conditions
there is no hereafter.'"
