Suta: 1. heard; in special sense "received through inspiration or revelation" learned; taught; frequently in phrase "Iti me sutaṅ" thus have I heard, I have received this on (religious) authority; sacred lore, inspired tradition, revelation; learning, religious knowledge. appa-ssuta, one who has little learning; bahu-ssuta, one who has much learning, famous for inspired knowledge; asuta, not heard; na suta pubbaṅ, a thing never heard of before. 2. renowned
