Aṇguttara-Nikāya
I. Ekanipāta
Sutta 47
Mudu Sutta
Soft
Translated from the Pali by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
Provenance, terms and conditons
[47][pts][olds] "Just as, of all trees,
the balsam is foremost
in terms of softness and pliancy,
in the same way
I don't envision a single thing that,
when developed and cultivated,
is as soft and pliant as the mind.
The mind,
when developed and cultivated,
is soft and pliant."
