[164] [237]

[1] THUS have I heard:

Once the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:

"Monks."

"Yes, lord," they replied, and the Exalted One said:

"Monks, these ten states,
if made to grow,
if made much of,
conduce to the ending of the cankers.

What ten?

Right view,
right thinking,
right speech,
right action,
right living,
right effort,
right mindfulness,
right concentration,
right knowledge,
right release.

These ten states,
if made to grow,
if made much of,
conduce to the ending of the cankers."
