[1] Thus have I heard:
On a certain occasion the Exalted One addressed the monks, saying:
"Monks."
"Yes, lord," they replied,
and the Exalted One said:
"Monks, these four modes of speech are un-Ariyan.
What four?
Speaking of things not seen as seen,
of things not heard as heard,
of things not sensed as sensed,
speaking of things not cognized as cognized.'
"Monks, these four modes of speech are un-Ariyan.
