Paṭhama Aggi Suttaɱ
Translated from the Pali by E.M. Hare.
'Yes, lord,' they replied;
and the Exalted One said:
"Monks, there are these seven fires.
The fires of passion,
the fires of the venerable,
Verily, monks, these are the seven fires.'
Childers. Aggi. Eleven (enumerated in Saŋkhyārtha Prakāça): rāgo — lust, doso — hate, moho — error, jāti — birth, jarā — decay, maraṇaɱ — death, soko — sorrow, paridevo — lamentation, dukkhaɱ — pain, domanassaɱ — grief, upāyāso — despair.
